DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Paul Scotland scored 16 points to lead four Bethune-Cookman scorers in double figures as it downed Howard 64-50 Monday night.
The Wildcats (10-16, 5-6 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led 33-21 at halftime as Scotland hit three treys and scored 13 of his points before the break.Howard (6-21, 3-10) made just 7 of 16 free throws in the first half and 16 of 27 overall after hitting only 14 of 24 from the line in a 46-45 loss to Florida A&M Saturday. The Bison made just 34.1 percent (15 of 44) from the field, including only 4 of 11 3-point attempts.Mike Phillips led Howard with 13 points.The Wildcats had lost four of five prior to Monday. Javoris Bryant, Adrien Coleman and Malik Jackson each added 12 points.Bethune-Cookman held an 18-7 advantage in points off turnovers and a 24-12 edge in points off the bench.
