CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Brett Olson scored 16 points, grabbed five rebounds and Denver won its seventh straight game in a 63-57 victory over Northern Iowa during BracketBusters on Saturday night.
Chris Udofia had 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting, pulled six rebounds and dished out five assists for Denver (18-8), which shot an even 50 percent from the field and was 13 of 14 from the free-throw line. Chase Hallam and Jalen Love scored 11 points apiece.
Northern Iowa cut the Pioneers' lead to one after Deon Mitchell made a lay-up to make it 53-52 with 2:19 to play but Denver responded with a 10-5 run sparked by Olson's four free throws and a lay-up of his own to help the Pioneers seal the deal.
Seth Tuttle scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, pulled five rebounds and had three assists to lead Northern Iowa (17-12), which scored 26 points in the paint.
The Panthers had won six straight.
