ALBANY, N.Y. -- Sam Rowley scored seven of his 11 points in a key 2-minute span late Thursday night to help Albany pull away from New Hampshire in a 56-49, America East Conference victory.
Rowley's layup with 5:34 left put the Great Danes (21-9, 9-6) ahead 47-42, and he followed with a three-point play and two more free throws during a 9-3 run for a 54-45 lead with 3:46 left. UNH (8-19, 4-11) was just 1-of-7 shooting and added a pair of free throws in the last 3 minutes as Albany held on, even after Rowley fouled out with 2:27 left.
Mike Black paced the Great Danes with 23 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 3 of 4 from 3-point range.
