BEAUMONT, Texas -- Robert Crawford made seven 3-pointers and finished with 30 points, and Central Arkansas defeated Lamar 106-99 in double overtime Thursday night.
The victory assured the Bears (11-16, 5-11) a berth in the eight-team Southland Conference tournament -- which Lamar won last season. The Cardinals (3-25, 1-14) needed a win to stay alive.
Six Lamar players scored in double figures, led by Rhon Mitchell with 25 points. Amos Wilson scored 19, Stan Brown had 17 points and 13 rebounds, Donley Minor added 12 points and seven assists, and Nikko Acosta and Donnell Minton each scored 10.
Lamar rallied from a 13-point second-half deficit to force overtime, tying it at 75 on Miles' basket with 11 seconds left. Miles' 3-pointer with 2 seconds left in the first OT made it 91-all.
