NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Angelo Warner scored 23 points, making 5 of 6 3-pointers, as Morehead State downed Tennessee State 101-100 Thursday night in Ohio Valley Conference play.
Drew Kelly's layup at the 13:16 mark in the second half put Morehead State up 73-55.
After fighting back to cut the lead to 101-95 with 1:02 remaining, Kellen Thornton's 3-pointer made it a one-possession game, 101-98, with 54 seconds left.
Patrick Miller and Jordan Cyphers missed shots for Tennessee State (16-13, 10-5) in the final 10 seconds. The Tigers could not score another point until Robert Covington's meaningless last second tip-in.
Thornton scored 29 points to lead the Tigers, who need just one home victory to tie the school record of 11 wins.
