JACKSON, Miss. -- Kelsey Howard scored 20 points and Christian Williams had 19 points to lead Jackson State to a 60-57 win over Alabama A&M on Saturday night in the regular-season finale for both teams.
The Tigers (11-22, 9-9 Southwestern Athletic Conference), who overcame a poor shooting effort, have won four of their last five games. Jackson State shot 38 percent (19 of 50) from the floor, while the Bulldogs made 42.9 percent (24 of 56) of their shots.
But two seconds later, Williams made two free throws that ultimately sealed it for the Tigers.
ESPN college basketball reporter Andy Katz discusses the need for the Pac-12 putting in place rules on that would prohibit storming the court after a win.
