LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Robert Crawford had 18 points while Jarvis Garner and LaQuentin Miles each had double-doubles as Central Arkansas overcame an eight-point, halftime deficit to sweep McNeese State 68-67 Saturday.
The Bears (12-16, 6-11 Southland Conference) trailed 40-32 at the intermission, but clawed back to tie it at 48 on Miles' jumper at 13:25. Desharick Guidry's 3-pointer put the Cowboys ahead 51-48. Then the teams exchanged the lead three times, with Central Arkansas pulling ahead to stay 63-62 on Garner's two free throws with 5:56 left.
McNeese State (12-15, 6-10) missed its final seven shots over the last 5 minutes.
The Cowboys and Bears occupy the seventh and eight spots, respectively, in the Southland. Each team plays 18 conference games, and the top eight teams qualify.
Garner had 13 points and 14 rebounds and Miles had 17 points and 10 boards.
Guidry led McNeese State with 24 points.
