SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- Alex Francis scored 19 points and posted his third consecutive double-double as Bryant led throughout in an 85-60 victory over St. Francis (Pa.) Saturday in Northeast Conference play.
The Bulldogs, who finished 2-28 last season, 1-17 in the NEC, are now 19-10, 12-6. They guaranteed themselves a home game Wednesday in the NEC tournament.
Bryant, which led 41-30 at halftime, got double-figure scoring from Corey Maynard (season-high 18 points), Dyami Starks (14), Joe O'Shea (12) and Vlad Kondratyev, who recorded a 10-point, 10-rebound double-double. Francis grabbed 12 rebounds.
Bryant outscored St. Francis 44-18 in the paint, outrebounding the Red Flash 41-16. The Bulldogs shot a sizzling 65.3 percent (32 of 49) from the floor. St. Francis hit 23 of 58 shots.
Bryant made 14 of 20 free throws. St. Francis was 3 for 7.
