SAVANNAH, Ga. -- Deven Williams scored 21 points to lead Savannah State to a 71-54 victory over Maryland-Eastern Shore in the regular-season finale for both teams Thursday night.
The Hawks led 12-11 on Snyder's free throws with 11:44 left in the first half, but the Tigers went ahead 24-18 on Cedric Smith's three-point play with 6:51 remaining. From a 24-20 advantage at 6:22, Savannah State closed with a 13-4 run for a 37-24 lead at halftime.
Savannah State made six 3-pointers, Maryland-Eastern Shore one.
Ted Kapita was the top-rated recruit from West Virginia in the class of 2015 and recently played at DME Academy in Florida.
With the Suns drafting Tyler Ulis, they now have five guards on their roster who attended Kentucky.
