Creighton 64, Indiana St. 43

ST. LOUIS -- Doug McDermott had 25 points and nine rebounds, and Creighton reached the final of the Missouri Valley Conference tournament with a 64-43 victory over Indiana State on Saturday.

Creighton, the top seed in the tournament, will face No. 2 seed Wichita State in Sunday's final. The Shockers beat sixth-seeded Illinois State 66-51 later Saturday.

McDermott was 6 of 7 from 3-point range, and 8 of 10 overall, for the Bluejays (26-7), who opened the game on an 11-2 run and later scored 18 unanswered points en route to a 41-18 halftime lead.

The Sycamores (18-14) couldn't get much closer in the second half as Creighton cruised to the victory.

Gregory Echenique added 10 points on 5-of-6 shooting for Creighton, which shot 61.5 percent from the floor in the first half and 53.5 percent overall.

Manny Arop had 13 points to lead fifth-seeded ISU, which shot 26.5 percent from the floor.
