DAVIS, Calif. -- Will Davis II scored 18 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and UC Irvine erased a 19-point halftime deficit to defeat UC Davis 88-85 on Saturday night.
The Aggies took a commanding 47-28 lead at halftime but a Michael Wilder three-point play with 2:35 to go gave UC Irvine (18-14, 11-7 Big West) a 76-74 lead, its first of the night, and never looked back.
UC Irvine claims the No. 4 seed in the Big West Conference tournament and will play fifth-seeded Hawaii on Thursday in Anaheim. UC Davis falls to the six seed and will play No. 3 Cal Poly.
The Anteaters have won six of their last seven games heading into the conference tournament.
