ASHEVILLE, N.C. -- Jake Cohen scored 17 points and De'Mon Brooks 16 to lead Davidson past Appalachian State 65-62 Sunday in the Southern Conference semifinals for its 16th straight win.

Tyler Kalinoski added 11 and Chris Czerapowicz 10 for the Wildcats, whose winning streak is the second longest in the nation behind Middle Tennessee State (17).

Davidson (25-7) drew the game to a 28-all tie 15 seconds into the second half before Appalachian State reeled off 13 straight points to take its largest lead of the game, 41-28.

The Wildcats climbed to within two, 43-41, but the Mountaineers (15-16) pushed back ahead 47-41 behind four straight points from Jay Canty midway through the second half. Davidson, however, got hot from there, making six of its next 10 shots during a 16-4 run to take the lead for good, 57-51.

Nathan Healy had 14 points and seven rebounds for the Mountaineers.
