LAS VEGAS -- Daniel Mullings scored 23 points to lead New Mexico State over Idaho 65-49 Thursday in the Western Athletic Conference quarterfinals.
No. 3 seed New Mexico State led 32-28 at halftime.
Both teams had 26 rebounds, but New Mexico State shot 60 percent from the field for the game, while the Vandals (12-18) shot 40 percent. Idaho had 16 turnovers, which the Aggies converted into 25 points.
New Mexico State will play the winner of the Thursday afternoon match between Denver and Texas State on Friday.
