VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Alec Peters had 16 points as Valparaiso led from start to finish to defeat University of Central Florida 85-70 Tuesday night.
Valparaiso (4-3) started the game on a 20-7 run and had a 41-33 advantage at the half. UCF (3-2) could never get closer than five points. Valparaiso kept the pressure on by hitting 20 of 28 shots from inside the three-point line. The Crusaders hit 54.2 percent of all their shots from the field. The Knights made 24 of 59 field goal attempts.
