WORCESTER, Mass. -- Cullen Hamilton scored a career-high 35 points to lead Holy Cross to a 122-118 double overtime win over Sacred Heart on Wednesday night.
Hamilton, who was of 11 of 21 from the field, drained seven 3-pointers for the Crusaders (1-1). Dave Dudzinski delivered a double-double with 26 points, including the free throw at the end of regulation to send the game into its first overtime, and 15 rebounds. Malachi Alexander joined them in double digits with 23 points.
Holy Cross set a Patriot League record for points in a game, breaking a mark of 116 that the Crusaders set back in 1992. Three other PL teams, Boston U., Bucknell and Navy, scored 90-plus points Wednesday night in victories.
