LORETTO, Pa. -- Tim Kempton scored 18 points and pulled down a career-high 15 rebounds as Lehigh took down St. Francis 57-50 on Wednesday night.
Lehigh (4-5) handed St. Francis (1-7) its sixth loss in a row, closing the contest on an 8-2 run after the Red Flash came within a point of tying the game.
Ben Millaud-Meunier hit a 3-pointer with 2:52 left to bring St. Francis within 49-48 but Mackey McKnight responded with a jumper for Lehigh. Following a missed 3-pointer from Millaud-Meunier, Corey Schaefer found Kempton for a layup with 1:02 left to open a 54-48 lead and the Mountain Hawks held on down the stretch.
Schaefer had 14 points for Lehigh, hitting 3 of 6 3-pointers. McKnight and Austin Price had 12 points apiece for the Mountain Hawks.
