CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Yonel Brown scored 21 points on Tuesday and Kennesaw State beat Chattanooga 73-69 in a game that came down to the final 20 seconds.
Willy Kouassi gave the Kennesaw State (2-4) a 71-69 lead with 20 seconds to play with a dunk off his own offensive rebound, then Nigel Pruitt drew fouls on a steal and a rebound and sank three free throws to keep the Chattanooga (2-1) at bay.
Bernard Morena had 15 points for the Owls, including two 3-pointers, and Nigel Pruitt added 13 points. Brown also had two 3-pointers.
Kennesaw led 38-37 at halftime, but Chattanooga clawed back in the second period and Jones tied it at 69 with a free throw with 27 seconds to play. Then Kouassi got his rebound and dunk.
