MACON, Ga. -- Jakob Gollon scored a game-winning layup with 12 seconds left in overtime to lead Mercer past Denver 64-63 on Saturday.
Langston Hall hit a jumper for Mercer (6-4) with 57 seconds remaining in overtime to cut its deficit to 63-62.
Gollon then came up with a steal, and following a missed jumper by Hall, Gollon grabbed the rebound and scored the game-winner. Hall finished with 16 points, Daniel Coursey added 15 and Gollon had 14 for the Bears.
Trailing 52-51 in the final minute of regulation, Mercer missed three 3-point attempts on one possession but rebounded all three, the third resulting in a putback dunk by Daniel Coursey with 14.3 seconds left to give the Bears a 53-52 lead.
Chris Udofia was then fouled with 4.4 seconds to go and hit 1 of 2 free throws for Denver to send the game to overtime.
