HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Tyler White knocked down a 3-point shot with 30 seconds remaining as Northern Kentucky held off Navy 72-65 on Saturday.
Worth Smith hit a 3 with 1:08 to play to pull Navy (5-5) within 66-65 but after a timeout White responded for the Norse (4-7). After a Smith miss, Northern Kentucky secured the game at the foul line, starting with a pair of free throws from Todd Johnson at 17 seconds to make it 71-65.
Venturini and Knorr combined for Navy's first 18 points as the Midshipmen took a 29-23 lead at the half. Knorr had his 13 points at 6:45, making it 23-14 but the Norse blanked him from there.
