TULSA, Okla. -- Obi Emegano scored 19 points and was one of four starters in double figures for Oral Roberts, as they outlasted Tulsa 74-68 in a season opener for both teams Sunday night.
The Golden Eagles, who shot 22-of-57 from the field, held a slim 30-27 advantage at half. They jumped ahead on an 8-0 run midway through the second half, but Tulsa clawed back to tie the game at 56 with 4:24 remaining.
Emegano hit six free throws in the final minute and Tulsa couldn't close the gap.
Shawn Glover scored 16 points for Oral Roberts and Korey Billbury added 13 and eight rebounds.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
