TULSA, Okla. -- Chad Frazier and Rod Rucker each scored 21 points as UAB held on for a 70-63 victory over Tulsa Saturday.
Frazier hit 6 of 13 from the field and 5 of 8 from 3-point range. Overall, the Blazers (13-6, 2/3 Conference USA) were 37.7 percent from the field and 79.2 percent from the line.C.J. Washington chipped in with six points and 10 rebounds for UAB. The Blazers outrebounded Tulsa 50-35 during the contest.Tulsa led by two at the break but UAB started the second period with a 13-7 run for a 46-42 advantage with 11:53 to play. Frazier hit a trio of 3-pointers in just under five minutes to give UAB a 58-50 lead with 4:43 remaining and Denzell Watts went 4 of 4 from the line in the final seconds to seal the win for the Blazers.James Woodard led the Hurricane (9-11, 4-2) with 12 points.
