BOSTON -- Pendarvis Williams scored a game-high 27 points, including six in the final minute and eight in overtime to lead Norfolk State over Boston University 86-82 Sunday.
Williams' 3-pointer put Norfolk State (8-3) up 72-70 with 2:13 remaining in overtime. The Spartans finished on a 14-12 run, capped by five straight free throws by Williams.
Down 67-61 with 1:05 to play in regulation, Williams closed with a 6-0 run to force overtime. He hit a jumper, had a steal and layup, and then a game-tying jumper with ten seconds remaining. Williams scored a 3-pointer to open the second half, yet did not score again until the final minute.
The Spartans had 10 steals. Williams and Malcolm Hawkins led with four steals apiece. Hawkins added 17 points.
John Papale scored 18 points to lead Boston (6-5), but he did not score in overtime.
