OREM, Utah -- Ben Aird scored 15 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds as Utah State beat North Carolina A&T 78-71 on Monday night.
Utah Valley (2-0) had to use a late run to pull away from a stubborn North Carolina A&T (1-1) team. The Wolverines built up a 12-point lead early in the second half, but the Aggies chipped away and got the lead to one with 6:45 remaining.
Utah Valley responded, going on a 5-0 run. They pushed the lead up to 12 with 1:57 left after Holton Hunsaker hit two 3-point field goals.
Hunsaker led the team with 16 points but shot 4 of 15, including 3 of 7 from beyond the arc. Five different Wolverines finished in double figures.
