DAVIS, Calif. -- Connor Hill had a career-high 29 points and Glen Dean scored all of his 18 points in the second half as Idaho defeated UC Davis 80-76 Saturday.
The Vandals (4-4) erased an early 15-point deficit and climbed within two on a Dean 3-pointer at the 7:59 mark. After a Brynton Lemar layup and three-point play by Igor Nujic, Idaho surged on a 16-2 run, sparked by a trio of 3-pointers from Dean to lead 78-71.UC Davis (3-5) cut the deficit to two on two jumpers by Corey Hawkins, but Hawkins couldn't connect on a potential game-tying jumper with eight seconds left. Dean sank two late free throws to seal the win.Hill and Dean finished a combined 12 of 16 from beyond the arc. Stephen Madison added 15 points and 16 rebounds.Hawkins led the Aggies with 18 points and Josh Ritchart added 16 with nine boards.
