SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Will Neighbour scored 20 points Thursday and the University of Arkansas-Little Rock rallied to beat Texas State 63-59 in their Sun Belt Conference opener.
Neighbour scored 16 points in the second half and UALR (6-7, 1-0) rallied from a 24-21 halftime deficit to take a 45-44 lead on a jumper by Josh Hagins. The Bobcats (4-10, 0-1) made it a one-point game at 3:30 on a trey by Phil Hawkins, but the Trojans stayed ahead down the stretch with free throws and Hagins sank two with 2 seconds to go to seal the win.
It was Neighbour's fifth 20-point game of the season and he has reached double figures in 13-straight games.
Hagins finished with a career-high 19. The Trojans shot 41.3 percent from the field compared with 44.2 percent for the Bobcats.
