JONESBORO, Ark. -- Melvin Johnson III scored 21 points while Kendrick Washington had 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Arkansas State drubbed Arkansas-Little Rock 77-49 in Sun Belt conference play on Saturday night.
Kirk Van Slyke added 15 points and eight rebounds while the Red Wolves hit 26 of 32 from the penalty stripe.
Arkansas State (11-7, 4-3) opened a 38-24 halftime lead and closely matched that performance offensively and defensively in the second period as they were never challenged by the Trojans.
