SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Alan Williams had 27 points and 17 rebounds as UC Santa Barbara coasted to a 76-50 victory over Hawaii Pacific Friday.
Hawaii Pacific led 6-1 on 3-point jumpers by Malte Zeigenhagen and Darry Jones Jr., but the Gauchos quickly took the lead 8-6 on a Kyle Boswell steal that led to a Williams' jump shot with 17:37 remaining in the first half. The UC Santa Barbara defense stymied Hawaii Pacific, holding the Sea Warriors scoreless for more than 6 minutes in the first period to take a 16-9 lead. They were ahead 34-20 at the half.
Ziegenhagen led the Sea Warriors with 14 points. Justin Long contributed 12 points.
