San Jose State (2-4) opened the contest on a 22-4 run, including 14 straight points from Muhammad, on its way to a 49-19 lead at halftime. The Spartans hit 9 of 19 3-pointers in the first half, led by Devante Wilson with four and Muhammad with three.
Wilson had 16 points in the game, including 13 in the high-scoring first half. Chris Cunningham added 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for San Jose State.
Muhammad did all of his scoring in the first half while all of Alexander's points came in the second half.
The Spartans only turned the ball over five times, compared with 13 for Cal State Fullerton (2-3).
