Austin Peay knocks off SE Missouri 80-74

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. -- Chris Horton scored 21 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead Austin Peay to an 80-74 Ohio Valley Conference victory over Southeast Missouri State Saturday night.

Travis Betran contributed 16 points, Will Triggs added 14, Zavion Williams had 12 and Damarius Smith had eight points and 10 assists for Austin Peay (8-8, 2-0).

The Redhawks (8-7, 0-2) held a 38-33 advantage at the half. They held a lead until Williams hit a 3-point jump shot with 13:13 remaining to tie the game at 48. Travis Betran hit two 3-pointers in a row to give Austin Peay a 57-52 lead with 11:30 left. The Governors scored 15 unanswered points to lead 65-52 at the 7:59 mark. A Jarekious Bradley 3-point shot closed the gap to 72-68 with 3:08 remaining, but the Redhawks could get no closer.

Bradley had a career-high 30 points for the Redhawks.
