CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas -- John Jordan scored 21 points and added six assists as Texas A&M-CC dominated Huston-Tillotson 79-45 on Friday night.
Texas A&M-CC went on an early 20-0 run to open a 35-6 advantage in the first half and maintained a comfortable lead throughout the contest.
Jordan did most of his damage at the free throw line, making 13 of 17 attempts. He also had six rebounds and three steals, while Zane Knowles scored 12 points to go along with 18 rebounds for the Islanders. Cole Martinez added 11 points off the bench and Jake Kocher scored 10 points in his first game back after missing last season with an injury.
Huston-Tillotson struggled from the field, shooting just 24.2 percent. Terry Johnson was a bright spot for the Rams, scoring 20 points and combining with teammates Darion Cooks and Ronzelle Fort to account for 36 of the team's 45 points.
