HOUSTON -- Nikola Gajic scored 10 points in the first eight minutes to get Stephen F. Austin off to a 24-4 lead en route to a 77-50 win in Southland Conference play at Houston Baptist Thursday night.
Thomas Walkup hit 11-of-13 shots from the field for the Lumberjacks (14-2, 3-0 Southland), finishing with 27 points. Gajic finished with 16 points, hitting 3-of-4 3-point attempts, while Desmond Haymon and Deshaunt Walker finished with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Stephen F. Austin shot 29 of 60 from the field (48.3 percent) and connected on 8-of-25 3-point attempts. The Lumberjacks had 14 players see action in the road win.
Cody Joyce's 10 points off the bench led Houston Baptist, which was 15 of 49 from the field (30.6 percent) and 4 of 18 from long range.
