HAMMOND, La. -- Antonnio Benton, who scored 27 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, hit a 3-point shot with 2:04 remaining in the second overtime to give Southeastern Louisiana the lead and a 85-77 victory over Abilene Christian Saturday.
Southeastern Louisiana (7-8, 2-2 Southland Conference) held a commanding 40-25 lead at the half. Abilene Christian (6-10, 0-2) came back to tie at 64 at the end of regulation.
The Lions were trailing 72-70 when Benton hit a jump shot with two seconds remaining to tie the score at the end of the first overtime.
The Lions trailed 77-76 with 2:17 remaining in the second overtime. Benton hit a 3-point shot for the lead and the defense held Abilene Christian scoreless in the final two minutes.
JaMichael Hawkins had 20 points for the Lions.
