WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Zeke Upshaw scored 27 points, including seven 3-pointers, to lift Hofstra to a 69-64 win over North Carolina-Wilmington on Wednesday night.
The Pride (6-11, 2-1 Colonial Athletic Association) held on to a narrow lead throughout the second half and needed a 5-0 spurt that included an Upshaw trey with about five minutes left to hold off the Seahawks for the win.
UNC-Wilmington (6-13, 0-4) kept the game close and twice tied it up in the second half, once at 46 on a Luke Hager 3-pointer with 11:51 to go and then again at 53 on an Addison Spruill jumper three minutes later.
