HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. -- Frantz Massenat scored a career-high 32 points to lead Drexel over Hofstra 77-74 on Wednesday.
Drexel (11-9, 3-4 Colonial Athletic Association) shot 47 percent from the floor. Massenat was 6 of 9 on 3-pointers and had nine assists. Chris Fouch added 19 points, including four treys.
Drexel made its first four shots of the game, including treys by Massenat and Fouch, to go up early at 11-2 and maintained its cushion to lead by eight at the half at 40-32.
Hofstra took the lead on a Robinson trey at 50-47 with 13:37 left, and the lead was traded four times -- with four ties -- down the stretch. Massenat and Kazembe Abif made layups on consecutive possessions to go up four with 1:34 left.
Forward Kennedy Meeks, who has averaged 9.4 points and 6.5 rebounds at North Carolina, has pulled out of the NBA draft and will return to the Tar Heels.
