JACKSON, Miss. -- Julysses Nobles scored 15 points with seven assists and four rebounds as Jackson State clobbered Grambling State 76-59 on Saturday night.
Brandon West had 14 points and nine rebounds for the Tigers (7-12, 3-4 Southwest Athletic Conference). Javeres Brent scored 12 points and Treshawn Bolden came off the bench to chip in 10 points and three rebounds.
Jackson State was 53.6 percent from the field overall and hit 73.3 percent from the line.
Jackson State led 38-23 at the break and continued to dominate in the second period, extending their lead to as much as 18 points with 3 minutes left to play. Grambling State came as close as seven points on a Chandler Thomas layup with 10:30 left.
Thomas led Grambling State (1-15, 0-7) with 13 points and eight rebounds. Antwan Scott added nine.
Grambling State remains winless in the SWAC.
Ted Kapita was the top-rated recruit from West Virginia in the class of 2015 and recently played at DME Academy in Florida.
With the Suns drafting Tyler Ulis, they now have five guards on their roster who attended Kentucky.
