RENO, Nev. -- Cole Huff scored a career-high 16 points as Nevada defeated Utah State 62-54 on Saturday night and went to 4-0 in the Mountain West Conference for the first time.
Huff made four 3-pointers, also a career high, in the victory for the Wolf Pack (9-8, 4-0), who won only three MWC games last season. Deonte Burton added 14 points and AJ West 11. The Wolf Pack was outrebounded 48-35, and though they only shot 41.8 percent that was 10 percentage points better than the Aggies (11-4, 1-2).
Jarred Shaw, playing in his second game since returning from a five-game suspension, led the Aggies with 19 points.
Nevada scored the last five points of the first half to take a 32-28 lead. The Wolf Pack opened the second half with a 13-2 run that left them up 45-30 with 14:26 left. Utah State wouldn't get closer than seven after that.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return to College Park for his junior season, sources told ESPN.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
Andrew White III will return to the Nebraska men's basketball team next season after removing his name from the NBA draft.
