SAN FRANCISCO -- In a Nov. 13 story about a college basketball game between the San Francisco Dons and the Cleveland State Vikings, The Associated Press misidentified the Dons' coach. He's Rex Walters not Rex Chapman.
A corrected version of the story is below:
San Francisco defeats Cleveland St. 91-82
Mark Tollefsen scores 18 for San Francisco in 91-82 win over Cleveland St.
SAN FRANCISCO -- Mark Tollefsen had 18 points for San Francisco in its win over Cleveland State Wednesday night 91-82.
The game was closely played throughout as neither team took a double-digit lead until the closing minutes. San Francisco trailed 67-64 with 6:53 remaining in the second half. The Dons used a 27-8 run late in the second half to turn a nine point deficit into a ten point lead.
Sebastian Douglas led the Vikings (1-1) in scoring with 15.
The Dons made 50 percent from the beyond the arc, going 8-of-16, a staple for the Rex Walters led program that was top 5 nationally last year in 3-point field goal percentage.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
Andrew White III will return to the Nebraska men's basketball team next season after removing his name from the NBA draft.
