DAYTON, Ohio -- AJ Pacher hit five of six shots, including a game-opening 3-pointer, as Wright State got out early on Western Carolina and won 85-77.
The Raiders (5-3) built double-digit leads midway in the first half but Western Carolina (5-5) rallied to within four several times after intermission. Inside the final 50 seconds, the Catamounts launched an 8-1 run with 3-pointers from Trey Sumler and Tom Tankelwicz and a Brandon Boggs layup and closed to within five, 82-77.
Arceneaux and Jerran Young made three free throws in the final 22 seconds to seal the win.
Sumler finished with 15 points for the Catamounts, as did Tankelwicz, and Boggs scored 13 and made three steals.
Maryland point guard Melo Trimble, considered a lock to leave the program before struggling in the second half last season, has withdrawn from the NBA draft and will return for his junior season.
Louisville's Chinanu Onuaku, who recently underwent a medical procedure to correct a heart rhythm issue detected during the combine, will keep his name in the NBA draft pool.
