YPSILANTI, Mich. -- Karrington Ward scored a game-high 17 points and Eastern Michigan pounded Concordia 95-50 on Tuesday night.
Ward led five Eagles in double figures, as Eastern Michigan (2-0) shot 55.4 percent from the field and connected on 7-of-11 3-pointers in the rout.
After an early 3-pointer from Josh Fugate brought Concordia within 6-5 early in the game, the Eagles scored 29 unanswered points. Concordia was unable to recover, trailing by double digits for the remainder of the contest.
The Eastern Michigan defense forced 30 turnovers and held Concordia (1-3) to 28.6 percent from the field. Da'Shonte Riley led Eastern Michigan with five blocked shots.
