The Citadel overwhelms Montreat 109-64

CHARLESTON, S.C. -- Matt Van Scyoc scored 23 points and Brian White added 19 with 10 rebounds as The Citadel rolled past Montreat of the NAIA 109-64 Monday night.

The Bulldogs (3-4) shot 57.1 percent from the field, drained 14 3-pointers and had five players score in double figures. Ashton Moore and Dylan Setzekorn each had 13 and Marshall Harris III finished with 11 along with a game-high six assists. Sycoc sank five 3-pointers and White shot 7 of 8 for the game.

The Citadel led 47-36 at the break, but blew the game open with a 36-10 run in the opening 10 minutes of the second half. They grabbed their largest lead of 45 with a late C.J. Bray triple.

Montreat was just 19 of 55 on field goal attempts and trailed the entire game. Kerigan Farley led the Cavaliers with 17 points and La'Bris Adams had 15.
