MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Bobby Brown scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds off the Alabama State bench to spark the Hornets to a 93-62 victory over Mississippi Valley State Saturday.
Tied at 24-24 with under six minutes left in the first half, Alabama State rolled off a 17-4 run for a 41-28 halftime advantage and outscored the Delta Devils 52-34 in the second half.
Brown was 7 of 11 from the field and 6 of 7 from the line for the Hornets (8-6, 2-1 Southwestern). DeMarcus Robinson and Jamel Waters added 18 and 17 points, respectively, and Maurice Strong added 14 points and 13 rebounds. Alabama State shot 49 percent from the field (31 of 63).
