HAMDEN, Conn. -- Zaid Hearst scored a career high 23 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Quinnipiac beat Iona 86-74 on Monday night.
Hearst was 9-of-11 shooting for Quinnipiac (8-5, 3-1 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) and Ike Azotam added 18 and 15 rebounds. It was Hearst's sixth double-double of the season and Azotam's second straight game with at least 15 boards.

The Gaels pulled within 10 with 2:44 left in the game as Quinnipiac only made one field goal in the final nine minutes. Quinnipiac did make 7 of 8 free throws in the final 2:04 to seal it.
