Former Houston coach Guy Lewis dies

The Hall of Fame coach died this morning at the age of 93, the school announced. Lewis, Houston's coach from 1956-86, may best be remembered for coaching Elvin Hayes and the Cougars to an upset of UCLA at the Astrodome in front of 50,000-plus people in 1968.

Turgeon, Hurley get into postgame spat

Maryland coach Mark Turgeon and Rhode Island coach Dan Hurley exchanged words late in the Terps' win over the Rams at the Cancun Challenge. A tournament official then said Hurley directed an expletive at Maryland's players in the postgame handshake line. The teams also had to be separated before the awards ceremony. Hurley said of the incident: "Heat of the moment, championship game, stuff happens."
