NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) -- Davon Vinson threw for 109 yards and
two touchdowns to lead Northwestern State to a 31-10 win over
Southland Conference rival Southeastern Louisiana Saturday.
Rus Washington returned an interception 66 yards for a touchdown
-- Northwestern's first defensive score this season -- to put the
Demons (3-2) up 10-0 in the first quarter. Anthony Holmes had 18
carries for 134 yards and one touchdown.
Trey Willie finished the game 18-for-35 and 202 yards for the
Lions (1-4). He had one touchdown pass, a 12-yard toss to Merrick
Lanaux in the second for Southeastern's only lead of the game at
10-9. Lanaux had four catches for 87 yards.
The Demons wore down the Lions defense and went on to score 21
unanswered points -- two 1-yard touchdown passes in the second and a
1-yard run into the endzone in the fourth.
