PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Drew Willy completed 20 of 22 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns and Buffalo scored early and often in a 42-7 win over Temple on Saturday.

Mario Henry gained 126 yards on 17 carries and scored once for the Bulls (1-1, 1-0 Mid-American), who rolled up 414 yards of total offense to Temple's 141.

Adam DiMichele completed 13 of 23 passes for 160 yards for Owls (0-2, 0-1), who ran the ball 25 times for minus-36 yards.

The Bulls scored on the first play from scrimmage when James Starks went 74 yards after a short pass from Willy. Buffalo made it 14-0 on Mike Newton's 40-yard interception return and led 21-0 when Henry broke several tackles on a 33-yard run midway through the first quarter.

Temple's Jason Harper's 10-yard dash cut the score to 21-7 early in the second, but Willy's 9-yard run capped a 13-play, 77-yard drive to give Buffalo a 28-7 lead at halftime.

Temple had its first sustained drive midway through the third quarter, but Kendrick Hawkins' interception halted the threat and Willy's 5-yard scoring pass to Jesse Rack gave Buffalo a 35-7 lead.

The loss marked Temple's debut in the Mid-American Conference after two years as an affiliated member following the Owls' departure from the Big East.
