DURHAM, N.H. -- Andy Vailas threw a touchdown pass and ran for another in the first half of New Hampshire's 43-10 home win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
Vailas, who finished with 122 yards passing on 14-of-20 attempts in his first collegiate start, opened scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run. Then, after Jared Allison scored from 30-yards out to help the Wildcats (2-1) jump ahead 13-3, Vailas connected with Harold Spears on a 1-yard touchdown to put the game away.
From there, the Wildcats rushing attack took over, adding three more touchdowns.
New Hampshire outgained CCSU (0-3) 459-234 yards despite running four less plays.
New Hampshire has beaten CCSU seven-straight times, with the closest margin of victory at 13 points.
