MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Justin Billings ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries to help Arkansas-Pine Bluff beat Alabama State 24-21 on Thursday night.
Billings gave the Golden Lions (3-1, 2-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference) a 24-14 lead with a 39-yard run at the end of the third quarter. He also had a 1-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Ben Anderson completed 17 of 30 passes for 220 yards and a touchdown, a 27-yarder to Ladarius Eckwood late in the second quarter. Dennis Jenkins ran for 82 yards on 19 carries, Eckwood finished with five catches for 92 yards, and Tyler Strickland made a 50-yard field goal in the third quarter.
