SAN MARCOS, Texas -- Shaun Rutherford threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as Texas St. beat Stephen F. Austin 41-37 on Saturday night.
In the first quarter, Rutherford scored on a 5-yard run and connected with Chase Harper on a 16-yard pass for another touchdown. But it was Will Johnson who got the Bobcats on the scoreboard first with a field goal.
In the third quarter, Rutherford connected with Isaiah Battle for a 98-yarder and again with Harper. Rutherford was 21 of 26 for 301 yards passing.
