SE Louisiana 25, McNeese St. 24

HAMMOND, La. -- Nathan Stanley's 3-yard touchdown pass to Taylor Jenkins with 2:39 remaining pulled Southeastern Louisiana within one point of McNeese State and the Lions opted to go for the two-point play, converting on a Michael Chaney run to steal a 25-24 win Saturday night.

Chaney also set up the late heroics, rushing for a 2-yard touchdown to pull the Lions within one touchdown with 3:26 remaining in the third quarter, in the first win of the season for Southeastern Louisiana (1-3, 1-0 Southland Conference).

Robert Alford then intercepted Cody Stroud's pass on McNeese State's first offensive play after losing the lead, and the Lions ran the clock down to secure the win.

Stanley had 247 passing yards and a score, while also rushing for 29 yards and a TD.

Stroud passed for 164 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for the Cowboys (3-1, 0-1).
