POCATELLO, Idaho -- Garrett Safron passed for 202 yards and three touchdowns to lead Sacramento State to a 54-31 victory over Idaho State on Saturday.
Edgar Castaneda supplemented Safron's effort with field goals of 41, 25, 38 and 50 yards.
Ezekiel Graham rushed for 158 yards and a touchdown as the Hornets (3-2, 1-1 Big Sky) rolled up 349 yards on the ground. He also had a 74-yard touchdown catch.
The first half was a back-and-forth affair with Sacramento State taking a 27-23 lead into the locker room. The teams combined for 646 yards of total offense with Idaho State (1-3, 0-1) holding a 334-312 edge.
The game was a statistical dead heat as the Hornets finished with 551 yards of total offense while the Bengals had 532.
Idaho State's Kevin Yost completed 44 of 73 passes for 534 yards but was intercepted twice.
